Eila is a relative newcomer to the sport of sea kayaking having started in 2008 with a solo circumnavigation of Anglesey. In 2009 she completed a solo circumnavigation of the Outer Hebrides in a SKUK Greenlander Pro. The desire to circumnavigate Ireland was sufficient that she resigned from a good corporate audit job at the end of April 2010 to start the expedition after the Anglesey Sea Symposium in May 2010. Eila holds the distinction of being the female record holder for circumnavigating Ireland solo. Outside of expeditions Eila helps develop kayaks and paddles for the smaller/female paddler for SKUK and Celtic Paddles.
